Provided here is a quickly assembled, partial discography. Some of these recordings have been reissued under other labels, both here and abroad, particularly the recordings with Lotte Lehmann*. A more complete list may eventually be available. YouTube has plentiful posts of many of the rarer recordings as well. Certain other recordings exist as well, on smaller labels, such as "Paul Ulanowsky Accompanies You," and on tape, including interviews and an all too brief except from a master class given at the University of Illinois, Urbana. These may also be able to be posted here in the future. * On the Lehmann Foundation site, recordings with Ulanowsky are identified. Click here on Lotte Lehmann Foundation, to visit the site. Also, see the Lotte Lehmann League. Acquisitions and Developments: Autumn 2021, all on YouTube: -- Hermann Prey recital given at the University of California, Berkeley, January 25, 1963. Schubert and Schumann. (Posted by kadoguy, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VPv3DqCM5gg) -- An encore from a Town Hall (NYC) recital sung by Claramae Turner, "Most Men." (Posted by opertutto, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aIhKDNI227c) -- Alice Howland, mezzo-soprano, sings fourteen songs by Johannes Brahms. Taken from a rare, long out-of-print recording, circa 1951. (Posted by kadoguy, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l-9H-0bfttQ&list=PLVaesGflLES8TREHhC6Z_MR9T6UJvkdeV&index=1)
-- Soprano Jean Carlton and alto Margaret Tobias, two original members
of the Bach Aria Group, perform 12 duets (op. 63) by Felix Mendelssohn.
Sadly, this old 10" lp is quite worn and has occasional warpage
and several pops throughout, but is important for its musical and
historical qualities. (Posted by kadoguy in three posts: Spring 2016 -- 1952 Boston Recordings, now Parnassus CD, of several pieces with Arthur Grumiaux, violin Autumn 2015 -- Recording from radio broadcast of 1963 Hunter College recital with Swiss tenor Ernst Haefliger. 10 songs from Schubert's Schwanengesang; Janacek's "Diary of one who vanished". (See below.) Summer 2014 -- Recordings from the University of Illinois, 1964-68. Some recently restored and digitized. They include pieces not elsewhere recorded by Ulanowsky, even if not always with the most stellar artists. (See page bottom.) One set with Evelyn Reynolds comprises songs by Joseph Marx, a program suggested by Ulanowsky in honor of his former composition teacher. (See below.) Spring 2012--An album with Jenny Tourel had been inadvertently left out, and a private recording with French horn player James Stagliano is added. Spring 2008--The New York Town Hall debut of San Francisco tenor James Schwabacher was discovered to have been preserved on tape. I acquired a digital copy from the university to which Mr. Schwabacher bequeathed his musical collection.
